Welcome to the Lester B. Pearson school community!
We are a warm and welcoming school community with a caring staff, dedicated teachers, and an active parent community. LBP is a K-8 school with a French Immersion program, numerous clubs and activities, and a host of sports teams. There is something for everyone!!
LBP is rooted in four core values: Respect, Academics, Teamwork, and Leadership.
Respect – “When you are content to be yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.” Lao Tzu
Academics – “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Teamwork – “Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” Ryunosuke Satoro
Leadership – “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams
Our programming and activities in the school aim to develop these core values at all grade levels.
Our students grow and develop in many important ways during the school year! We want all of our students to set high expectations for themselves and to get involved in school activities. The staff and teachers at LBP are here to support students to achieve their goals.
We welcome parents volunteering in the school. One way to volunteer is to join our School Council. It’s a great way to involve yourself in the school and learn more about how things work at LBP. School Council always needs help with fundraising initiatives. Fundraising initiatives allow School Council to organize events such as barbeques, movie nights, and other activities. School Council also subsidizes opportunities for students such as Scientists in the School, library books, field trips, playground equipment, home reading, athletic team tournaments, and Grade 8 Graduation. We are very grateful for all that School Council does for students and staff!
Recently, two new outdoor learning structures were installed at LBP. This initiative was the result of extensive fundraising and we are grateful for all the hard work that went into this project. We have also recently added a School Food Garden.
Please be sure that your family is signed up for School Day. This communication platform is our primary way to connect with you and keep you informed of LBP’s happenings. If you need help getting your family registered on School-Day, please contact our front office at 519 880 0300.
Here’s to a great year!
