Welcome back… and what a fantastic week it has been! It is wonderful to have the school full of energy, smiles and learning.
In spite of the rain’s best efforts, all children were settled into their classrooms shortly after 9 am on the first day. Fortunately the weather cleared and we were able to use the full schoolyard for recess and outdoor classes such as physical education.
The rest of the week flew by with kindergarten entry visits, football and field hockey tryouts, Welcome Back BBQ and Meet the Teacher, and LBP’s first ever “Amazing Race”.
Thank you to our custodial staff, led by Mr. Holtom, for the work they put into preparing the school for Day 1. The building has never looked better!
We would also like to thank our School Council for their help with the Welcome Back BBQ, and the summer work of rehabilitating our outdoor classroom and the repairing the school sign.
Friday was a special day as all our “kindy kids” were at school for the first time and grade one to eight participated in the “Amazing Race”. Events like this are important in helping each class build unity and learn to work together. Many thanks to the team of teachers who spent hours over the summer months planning the day’s activities.
Thank you to all our families who joined us on Thursday evening for the BBQ and Meet the Teacher. What a great way to reconnect after the summer and to enter into the world that the students share at school.
And now for week two…
