Halloween Information

The Eastbridge Neighbourhood Association is having a Halloween Party on Saturday October 29, 2016 from 6-7:30 at St. Luke Catholic School at 550 Chesapeake Drive.  Full details can be found on our school website at https://lbp.wrdsb.ca/.

We will be celebrating Halloween at Lester B. Pearson School on Monday, October 31st in the morning. Students may wear costumes or black and orange clothing that day. If students wear costumes to school we ask that they wear comfortable clothes underneath to easily change later. In the interest of safety we ask that children do not wear masks or bring any props to school. Costumes can be expensive and we do not want any items damaged or lost at school.  As always, costumes need to be appropriate in nature and no items simulating weaponry are allowed at school. We also ask that costumes are not so scary that they frighten our youngest students. We want the day to be fun for all.  We will have a whole school costume parade in the gym in the first block of the day.

If you would like to send treats to school, we remind you of LBP’s  “Food Free Celebration” Policy when it comes to sending in items for special occasions.  We ask that you  do not send in any food items.  We are concerned with potential for allergic reactions and parents’ right to decide which foods are appropriate from a cultural, religious, and/or nutritional point of view. Pencils, erasers, notepads, word searches or stickers are a few great ideas that are appreciated by students!

We are also collecting a loose change donation on behalf of the #helpthebats #batweek campaign through the Canadian Wildlife Federation on Monday October 31st
