Lester B. Pearson (LBP) is always striving to provide our students with an excellent, well-balanced, and enriched learning environment. The LBP School Council plays a vital role to our school through organizing events (such as the LBP BBQs, math night, and screen free week) as well as through our fundraising activities to support other annual activities such as Scientists in the School, the Home Reading program, and the Tools for Life® program.

LBP School Council is proud to be fundraising for the LBP Outdoor Learning Project as part of School Council’s strategy to make targeted investments into the LBP School Community.

Fundraising Goals

The goal of the LBP Outdoor Learning Project Fundraising Campaign is to raise $100,000 over three years. 2016-2017 was Phase One, with 2018-2019 will be the final year or Phase Three. The funds raised will be used to make targeted investments into our school yard for the LBP Community to enjoy:

  • We have already revitalized the pre-existing naturalized area (one of the LBP outdoor play areas)
  • We plan to construct a new naturalized area
  • We plan to add climbing and other play structures x
  • We plan to increase school yard greening (additional trees)

How you can contribute to the LBP Outdoor Learning Project

All members of the LBP community (students, parents, and grandparents) can contribute to the fundraising campaigns in a number of ways:

  1. Participate in School Council fundraisers held over the school year. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
  • Online Charitable Donations (wrdsb.ca/wefi/)
    • Charitable donations can be made online through the Waterloo Education Foundation Inc. (WEFI), a registered charitable foundation, operated through the Waterloo Region District School Board. Follow the link https://www.wrdsb.ca/wefi/and look for the donate now button on the left of the page.
    • 100% of your donation to “Lester B Pearson PS” will be directed to the LBP Outdoor Learning Project
    • Donations of $10 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt from the WRDSB WEFI fund
    • Donations may be eligible for corporate matching (check with your employer)
    • Alternatively, if you wish to make a donation to our fundraising program by cheque, you may send a cheque to the LBP School front office payable to “Lester B. Pearson School Council”
